Viva Capital Funding is excited to announce the addition of four new partners to its executive management team.

These partners bring immense experience, ambition, and expertise, and I am excited for what the future holds for Viva Capital Funding,” said Jim Garcia, Founder and CEO of Viva Capital Funding.

Jim Garcia and Teresa Del Real will continue to serve the company in their current roles as CEO and COO, respectively. The four new partners are:

Greg DiDonna – President

As President of Viva Capital Funding, Greg will be responsible for strategic planning and overseeing implementation of the Viva Capital Funding commitment to customer service and growth. Greg brings 20 years of banking, finance, and real estate experience to Viva Capital Funding. Prior to joining Viva Capital Funding as a partner in 2017, Greg was Executive Vice President at Capital Bank in El Paso leading the commercial banking team including the Healthcare, Commercial & Industrial, Real Estate, and Treasury Management business segments. Under his leadership, the commercial banking team achieved over 20% annual growth each year and established Capital Bank as one of the fastest growing community banks in Texas from 2012 to 2016. Greg’s experience also includes eight years in the banking industry in Phoenix, Arizona where he was awarded Southwestern Business Development Finance Corporation – Banker of the Year three (3) times. Greg earned his Bachelor of Arts at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Armando Armendariz – Director of Business Development

Armando brings over 15 years of experience in banking, finance, and business entrepreneurship to Viva Capital Funding.  As Director of Business Development, Armando will be responsible for new business development, establishing referral partner relationships and managing Viva’s sales team.  Prior to Viva Capital Funding, Armando was Vice President at Capital Bank leading the Commercial and Industrial segment.  During his tenure at Capital Bank, Armando was an integral part of helping the Bank achieve the status of being named one of the fastest growing community banks in Texas from 2012 to 2016.  Capital Bank was part of a group of banks with $2 billion in assets, prior to a merger that occurred in 2017.  Armando graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master of Science in Finance in 2008.

David Ortwein – Director of Operations

David brings over 18 years of experience in financial services and real estate.  As Director of Operations, David is responsible for overseeing the account management team, debtor collections, invoice reporting, and company processes to ensure a continued focus on the customer’s experience. David was previously Senior Vice President at Capital Bank and led the Homebuilder and Commercial Real Estate Finance business segments.  David was successful building this platform by handling a high volume of transactions for the top ranked production homebuilders in the Southwest.  David’s focus on customer service and efficiency led his team to exponential growth in housing units financed year over year.  David’s past experience includes working for two Fortune 500 companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Financial Advisory Service team.  David earned his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University and his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Michael Marshall – Director of Finance

In his role as Director of Finance of Viva Capital Funding, Michael will be responsible for the development and implementation of Viva’s financial strategy, and for the day-to-day management of the company’s performance, budget and risk profiles. Prior to joining Viva Capital Funding in 2017, Michael was Assistant Vice President at Capital Bank where he focused on the note receivable and private lending segments. Michael’s experience also includes time served as a Legislative Assistant to Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner overseeing Finance and Homeland Security policy. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.
